Haris Rauf highly praised Mohammad Rizwan after he played an important role in Pakistan's consecutive victories in the ongoing home ODI series against New Zealand.
While addressing a press conference, Rauf credited Rizwan for leading the team from the front.
"He (Rizwan) came to bat twice in the middle order and he helped the team finish the match. He and Babar Azam are extraordinary when it comes to making a partnership," he said.
While answering a question about conceding many runs he said, "Modern cricket is all about chasing the target. We no longer live in the days where we could face anything less than 300. As a bowler you always have to concede runs in ODI cricket and one should be always ready for that."
Rauf also said that "a good performance in the series is crucial to get in rhythm for the upcoming Asia Cup and the ICC World Cup. Win or lose is just the part of the game but we will try to keep up the same momentum throughout the series."
"I am ready to bowl with the new ball. I'm a professional bowler who should be ready to bowl under all circumstances. I have bowled with a new ball previously against Australia and I can do that again.", he concluded.
Haris took 4 wickets for 78 runs in the second ODI between Pakistan and New Zealand. The two teams will now play third ODI in Karachi on May 3 followed by fourth and fifth match on May 5, and 7 respectively.
